How do we accomplish our goals?
The Delavan Lions Club holds three major fundraisers and various activities each year to support our causes. Members share in the responsibility for planning and holding successful events so the time commitments are balanced and not overwhelming to any single individual.
Major Club Fundraisers
Corn Roast Tent at the Walworth County Fair
- Labor Day weekend, Wednesday-Monday
- Each Lion asked to work four, four-hour shifts
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner
- Held at the Village Supper Club on Delavan Lake (South Shore Drive)
- The Sunday of or Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day
- Each Lion asked to work one, four-hour shift
Club Community Service Activities
Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up
- Highway 50 between County F and Hwy 67 (Delavan township)
- Each Lion asked to participate one to two times per year
Pajama Rama
- Held annually in the fall
- Pajama drive to benefit children in need. Donations are distributed to area shelters and county facilities.
- Lions promote the service project, collect, sort and distribute donations
Salvation Army Bell Ringing Volunteers
- Ringing during the holiday season at local retailers
Occasional participation in local parades
- Making our club visible to the community
Club Social Activities
Annual Christmas Party at a local restaurant
- Spouses and guests are welcome
- Often theme-oriented and always lots of fun
District and State Lions-sponsored events
- Bowling teams compete for prizes state-wide
- Golf outings throughout Southeast Wisconsin
Additional Lions Activities
- Participation at Zone, District and State Lions activities and conventions
