Easter Breakfast nets more than $1,000 for Special Olympics

The results are in and the Delavan Lions Club’s Breakfast With The Easter Bunny raised just more than $1,000.

More than 160 youngsters and their families came out to enjoy the meal, which included a large selection of raffle prizes and having pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.

The proceeds from the event, held at the Delavan American Legion Hall, will be donated to the Special Olympics of Wisconsin. The funds will be designated to help the Special Olympics programming and athletes who live in Walworth County.

Special thanks to the attendees and the many sponsors who donated food, funds and raffle prizes, especially: Sun Mist Café, Alder Dairy, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, and Kunes Country Auto Group, Andies Candies, Wal-Mart, Stinebrink’s Piggly Wiggly, Wilmar Pump and Supply, Walworth State Bank (Denise Petkoff), Southern Lakes Vacuum Center, Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic, Thelen Total Construction and Sugar Creek Mutual Insurance Company.

There were more than 60 other contributors to the event’s raffle drawings, which helped push the total beyond expectations.
